The New Hartford Women’s Club

Service to the Community Since 1966

Who we are:

The New Hartford Women’s Club, founded in 1966, is a non-profit organization composed of local women diverse in age, background, and interests; but all sharing the common goal of helping and improving our community.

These goals are solidified in community outreach activities which are designed to encourage interest in areas such as pride, improvement, conservation, education and local arts is to name but a few. The NHWC provides a pleasant way for local woman to meet and network with their peers.

The record of NHWC accomplishments throughout the decades makes it clear that diversity in an organization is a positive attribute. Our members share the enthusiasm and single-minded dedication of their community, which has always been a hallmark of NHWC members.

What we do:

The NHWC mobilizes community support and raises funds on an annual basis for many varied concerns. Our fundraisers take advantage of whatever talents members share; from pancake flipping at Breakfast with Santa to modeling for the fashion show to garnering goods and services from local merchants for a variety of causes. Past fundraisers have included the aforementioned Breakfast with Santa (our biggest event of the year), an adults-only Halloween party, 25th Anniversary prints, Town themed blankets and Munson’s chocolate sales. We also work with Unicef, Bunnies for Babies and the American Red Cross to bolster their efforts. We sponsor a babysitting course for New Hartford adolescents, not to mention helping to sponsor children for numerous local school events.

Our fundraising activities have enabled us to give to a large number of worthwhile causes. However, we like to have fun too! We offer a social program at each month’s meeting to enhance our member’s cultural calendar.

How to join:

Any woman 18 years of age or older who is a resident of New Hartford or the surrounding communities may join. No invitation or sponsor is needed, just a desire to help the community and make new friends. Dues are $20 annually and meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month September through June. Our meetings are currently scheduled for 7 p.m. at the South End Firehouse unless otherwise noted. Anyone interested in joining or learning more about the club is welcome to attend.
